Lesson Details
Lessons usually last a full 60 minutes or 90 minutes, or any other length of time agreed upon between Student and School. During the lesson, the student will receive practical and verbal training while the training vehicle may or may not be in actual motion due to safety considerations.
Each of our lessons contains a minimum of 60% actual practice driving time. All lessons start and end at the appointed time, although the lesson may start earlier if there is a mutual agreement between Student and School.
If the student is late for a lesson appointment, he or she will lose that portion of the lesson. If the instructor is late for a lesson appointment, the student will not lose any lesson time.
The student must have their driver’s license with them at all times during in-car lessons.

Cancellation and No Show Policy
A scheduled lesson may be changed or canceled by notifying Strong Start Driving School at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance. If a student cancels late, is unable to attend or does not show up for a scheduled lesson, the student may be charged twenty-five ($25) dollars.

Withdrawals and Refunds
In the case of prepaid lessons, the student may receive a refund for any unused portion of their package by notifying Strong Start Driving School of their intention to withdraw from any remaining lessons. The student will be charged the regular single lesson rate ($70) for the lessons already used.

Privacy of Lessons
We offer private lessons for our students, which means that under most circumstances only two people, the student and the instructor, will be in the vehicle at the same time. There may be occasions when another person (for example, a parent) may be present OR other person for scheduling or training purposes.

The Road Test
ICBC charges applicants $50 for a road test and $75 for an original license fee when the applicant passes the road test (a total of $125). Applicants must present themselves to ICBC at least 15 minutes before the test begins. If we booked your road test, you must give us at least 72 hours notice if you wish to cancel a road test to avoid ICBC charging you the $25 late cancellation fee mentioned above.

Strong Start Driving School is not responsible for your road test results. We will guide you through B.C.’s driving rules and regulations and give recommendations on how to become a thinking driver. It is the student’s responsibility to apply the knowledge gained and obey the rules and regulations learned.

The student must complete a minimum of 60 minutes of instruction in order to be able to rent the School’s vehicle for their road test. Strong Start Driving School has a right to refuse vehicle rental for the road test.
