Senior Drivers Enhanced Road Assessment (ERA)
You will not take a traditional road test simply because you turned 80. An ERA is only required if RoadSafetyBC determines it is necessary based on your medical examination or a specific referral.
Format: A 90 minute real world assessment conducted by ICBC using your own passenger vehicle (approximately 45 minutes of driving plus orientation and feedback).
Purpose: This is not a pass/fail road test. It is an assessment used to determine whether additional training or support may be needed to continue driving safely.
